Hmmm!!! Heavy… Heavy thoughts.. atleast for me!

Referring to your mail about this article below…

    “Dear Friends,

What makes Mother Teresa better than a Pope?
    Periyar better than Sankaracharya?
    Bhagat Singh better than Gandhi?

It’s a mere collection of quotes from East to West, from first century to 21st century..
By Businessmen, Philosopher, Poet, Prophet, …”

I couldn’t comprehend your analogy here with the quotes mentioned in the article ?

And why in first place, a comparison was made between the so-called legends! ? Explain!

  4. RJP April 30, 2008 at 9:44 am Reply

When Australian born Christian Missionary Graham Stewart Stains burnt alive in Orissa, Pope condemned the attack, just bcoz he was a Christian [And many more incidents where Pope’s statements where like a Politician]. But Teresa would have seen the same incident as a fellow human’s cruel death. She would have worried for both the victim & the criminal. That spirit made her to stay & service the poor ppl of Calcutta.

  5. RJP April 30, 2008 at 9:46 am Reply

Periyar – worried for the oppression under the name of caste. By birth some section of society were considered as divine people & some as slaves.

Sankaracharya – conspired for a murder. And the reason behind Anti Conversion Laws, banning of Cow Slaughtering, etc. He poked his divine nose into every Government Dept.

  6. RJP April 30, 2008 at 9:51 am Reply

Bhagat Singh – At 24 years he was crystal clear about his revolutionary ideologies.

    Read this:

Bombs and pistols do not make revolution

Gandhi – Not made any statement against Bhagat’s death sentence. Violent attitude in sticking to Non-violence.

    Gandhi has not given Independence.

    Hmmm.. Yes Prem!

I was more interested to know about the comparison between Gandhi and Bhagat Singh.

But i didn’t accept how this could be relevent to what you mention as forewords.-referred by prem.. and you give your answers in comments.. Why not you put this comparison as a different article.. !?

and.. i very strongly oppose your comparison of Mahatma with Bhagat singh.

    thats such a blindman’s view ..

i know.. people like us at the age of 20s… are very much attracted towards.. heroes… adrinalin.. pumps.up and up..now…

I was stunned on seeing the courage Bhagat singh shows against british.. viceroy.. after throwing Bombs.. and pafelets…

he is such a hero.. and he planned to continue his kind of war against british from lahore.. with his fellowmen… they are in 100s.. nut.. its he and his fellowmens are very easily and early controlled by british.. most of them get killed..

  15. reer April 30, 2008 at 1:42 pm Reply

Even a thief prepared himself overnight, to break some house.

As a lawyer, and a great reader, GANDHI well known the history and the mindset of british rulers. Hundreds of fighters like Bhagat singh got blowed into pieces in front of Cannons… from 1857 …

They wait for us to make a crime, and make it easy for them to punish us in the name of laws..

Being A bhagat singh and ready to dye at a age below 20 is something heroitic.. and we all know.. here we have heroes.., in very few numbers.. 1 in 100000, or 1 in 10000, atleast 1 in a 1000… What about the remaining 999. Gandhi decides to lead a war not with very few nos. of heroes.. he needs to lead a war with these remaining 999.. who does n’t have any weapens. And if they have not have the courage to use it fiercely against the gun handed mightiest british sipoys… but they feel for their nation.. and have a feeling to do something for their own country. Gandhi… as a truthful practitioner of “truth” very slowly… make these all people.. get into the war. There happens the magic.. there.. he makes the british.. feared.

My dear Indians,, for our country ..for india.. I not request you to rise some weapen.,.. I request you all not to use.. imported cloths.. use swethesi cloths..

See.. how easy this war is.. by residing in your home you take part of the war. By just not use some cloths…

Then salt satyagrahaa.. such a great..great march… ever happened in this world …before.

Slow and very slowly he unites india… to fight against british divided india.

If not Gandhi.. please show me … who gave us my freedom…!?

  16. RJP April 30, 2008 at 1:49 pm Reply

Gandhi made that statment after they were hanged.

Gandhi was one of the reason for getting freedom. Not the only one.

Even Sri Lanka, Burma, African colonies,.. got freedom after second world war from England

  17. reer April 30, 2008 at 1:57 pm Reply

at what cost..!? at what state… !?

Gandhi not react after their death only… how.. he was idle.. After his very great satyaagrahi.” laala lajabhathi roy” was beaten to death…

bhagat singh and Gandhi.., both got upset after lajapathi’s death.

gandhi lost his dear follower. bhagat lost his very own leader.

    reactions make them different.
